For anybody who works with text and has to search and replace large amounts across multiple files, Text Workbench is an invaluable tool. Text Workbench can search across folders, through sets of folders, through files created between certain dates, or through subsets of folders and files.
The Activate Scenario button is a big time saving feature, with built-in functions like: Clean Word HTML, convert plain text to HTML, make tags lowercase, convert ASCII to HTML or convert HTML to plain text (strip tags and compress spaces).
The regular expressions tester and evaluator is a very helpful tool for effortlessly creating even complex sets of regular expressions to optimize searches and to make sure that you do get the expected results before changing a large amount of files. The ability to back up files before making changes is a great help in case you want to roll back.
Although Text Workbench is a great time saving tool and works really well, the version that I downloaded was unfortunately full of programming bugs and just stopped working at least twice while testing it. Text Workbench as an idea is superb; the execution is unfortunately very poor.
